Packed agenda at Bury West Township Forum

Council officers will give a presentation about the Streetsafe initiative, which proposes a number of 20mph speed limits and zones.

They will also explain how the borough’s recycling rate has improved in the last year, and the challenges ahead in getting that rate up to 50% and beyond.

Major changes to welfare benefits start in April, and staff will outline what those changes mean with regard to Council Tax Benefit, Housing Benefit (specifically under-occupancy) and the Social Fund, as well as disability related benefits.

The forum will start with the PACT (Police and Communities Together) meeting.

The Township Forum meets at Elton Primary School at 7pm. The usual open forum and public question time will be on the agenda in the second half of the meeting.

Further details: Christine Maksymowski, Bury West Township co-ordinator, on 0161 253 7941.
