Press release -

Packed agenda for Whitefield and Unsworth Township Forum

Residents are invited to discuss a three-year Action Plan when their local Township forum meets on Tuesday 17 November.

The revised Town Plan will outline the local priorities for Whitefield and Unsworth between 2015 and 2018.

Please remember that this is an afternoon meeting, beginning at 1pm at the Elms Community Centre in Whitefield.

On a busy agenda, guest speaker Les Beardwood will be providing details about various matters involving trees, and there will be updates on a number of issues – the Uplands, the former Whitefield Town Hall, and Higher Lane Hickory Grange.

There will also be the latest news from the police and on the funding available for community groups, plus the usual public question time where visitors can raise any matters of local concern.

Residents are invited to two events which are held immediately before the official forum business starts. Firstly, from noon, there is the latest meeting of the Police And Communities Together (PACT) team; and, from 12.30pm, there is a ‘Market Place’ information session around Carers in Employment and the support available for working carers and their employers.

For further information please contact Ruth Shedwick, township co-ordinator, at r.shedwick@bury.gov.uk or 0161 253 5327.
