Repairs worth £450,000 will be carried out on Pilsworth Road next week as part of the council’s £30 million programme of highways works.

The road surface will be mechanically removed and a new surface course laid from Roch Bank Road across the junction with the M66 to Jacksons Fold Barn.

  • To minimise disruption, works will take place overnight from 8pm to 6am

Road closures

  • From 24 September to 2 October, Pilsworth Road will be closed at 8pm each evening until 6am the following day.
  • Signed diversions will be in place.

Access to the M66

During the works, drivers can access the M66 from:

  • Junction 17, M60 in Whitefield
  • Junction 2, M66 at Heap Bridge in Bury

Access to Pilsworth Retail Park and Industrial Estate

  • To allow for resurfacing the roundabout next to Pilsworth Asda, there will be no access to Pilsworth Retail Park and Industrial Estate from 8pm on 24 September until 6am on 25 September, and from 8pm on 1 October until 6am on 2 October.
  • Access will be available at all other times during the course of the work.

Councillor Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, climate change and operations, said: “We are putting unprecedented levels of money into repairing our roads – some £30 million over nine years.
