Press release -

Plan now for casting your EU vote on June 23

Registered voters who intend to visit a polling station on Thursday are being advised to plan when they will cast their vote.

All polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm. Voters who arrive at a polling station after 10pm will not be allowed to cast their vote, although any voter who arrives at the polling station before 10pm and is in a queue will still be able to vote.

Advice:

  • Make sure you leave plenty of time to cast your vote before the 10pm deadline.
  • Bring your poll card to the polling station to speed up the process, although this is not compulsory: you can still vote without it.
  • If you have a postal vote, make sure you return it before 10pm on 23 June. If you forget to send back your postal ballot, you can hand it in at any polling station in Bury on polling day
  • Mark your ballot paper with one ‘X’ only in the box beside the option you want.

Voters should have received a poll card with details of where their polling station is. If anyone has misplaced their poll card, or is unsure where their polling station is, call 0161 253 5252.

Further information on how to vote is available on the Electoral Commission’s website at: www.aboutmyvote.co.uk or ordered on 0800 3 280 280.
