Primary School Placements 2022

Over 94% of Bury primary pupils will attend their first choice of primary school.

In 2021, 94% transferred to their first choice, and this has risen to 94.5% in 2022.
2,063 applicants from Bury residents have been offered a place at secondary school.

This high percentage demonstrates Bury’s schools continuing to recover from the pandemic and providing high quality education for children across the borough, after the pandemic caused many disruptions.

Isobel Booler, Director of Education and Skills, Children and Young People said I am happy to report that over 94% of primary pupils will be heading to their school of choice in September. It is indeed an exciting time for our young children to begin their school career and a credit to the local schools across the borough for working hard to provide a great standard of education throughout the pandemic and now, as they recover from the turbulence of the last couple of years. I wish all the best to new pupils starting in September at their school of choice
