Primary school placements 2024

More than 93% of Bury primary pupils will attend their first choice of primary school in the autumn, up from 91% last year.

Some 98.8% have been allocated one of their top 3 preferences, again up from last year’s figure of 97.9%.

A total of 1,988 applicants from Bury residents have been offered a place at primary schools across the borough. All Bury children have been allocated a school place.

Reception Allocations September 2024

  • 1st preference offers – 1,856 (93.4%)
  • 2nd preference offers – 95 (4.8%)
  • 3rd preference offers – 12 (0.6%)

This compares to the figures for 2023

  • 1st preference offers – 1,923 (92.1%)
  • 2nd preference offers – 118 (5.6%)
  • 3rd preference offers – 24 (1.1%)
