Public event to help residents with their recycling

Help is at hand for residents who are unsure what to recycle in each of their household bins.

An awareness event is being held on Wednesday 26 November at the Mill Gate shopping centre in Bury, from 8.30am to 5.30pm.

Council officers will be there with advice on what waste goes into which bin, what can and cannot be recycled, and practical help on how to make the most of the space in the grey (non-recyclable) bin. Kitchen caddies and compostable liners for food waste recycling will be available for collection.

There will also be the chance to sign up to the ‘Recycle more for Bury’ pledge which gives residents the chance to be entered into a free prize draw to win a £50 shopping voucher donated by The Rock.

For more information about recycling in Bury visit www.bury.gov.uk/recycling or phone 0161 253 5555. To sign up for e-mail reminders for bin collections visit www.bury.gov.uk/bincollections.
