Reading As Art – new exhibition at Bury

The relation between reading and art is the subject of a new exhibition at Bury Museum.

“Reading as Art” is curated by Simon Morris and features 12 artists whose aim is to tamper with language, its presentation and its reception.

Three publications will be launched at this exhibition: Twelve Erroneous Displacements and a Fact by Craig Dworkin; Cartography for Girls by the artist Carol Sommer; and an illustrated exhibition catalogue including six essays and a bibliography of related projects. These will then be presented at an exhibition in New York City from 29 October.

The exhibition runs from 27 August to 19 November, and features a number of talks and special performances on 7 October (6-9pm). For more details of Bury Art Museum & Sculpture Centre exhibitions, visit http://buryartmuseum.co.uk/

The museum isopen Tuesday–Friday from 10am to 5pm, and on Saturday from 10am to 4.30pm.
