Rewards for Learners of the Year

Press release -

Rewards for Learners of the Year

Adults who have studied with Bury Adult Learning Service were presented with certificates at an award ceremony held at Bury Football Club.

They were representative of the many different courses provided by the service and were nominated by their tutors in recognition of their achievements.

Councillor Mike Connolly, leader of Bury Council, presented the certificates to each learner. All the winners were accompanied by family members or friends who have supported them during their studies.

Jill Quigley, libraries and adult learning service manager, said: “This type of event is such a special occasion and a great opportunity to meet and thank the learners. Presenting them with their certificates gives recognition for all their hard work and commitment to their studies and coursework.”

The new course guide will available at the end of July from all local libraries, Bury Adult Learning Centre and via www.bury.gov.uk/adultlearning. For further information contact 0161 253 7501 or email student.services@bury.gov.uk.
