Road repairs about to start in Tottington

Work will begin on Monday 3 August to repair the carriageway on Harwood Road in Tottington between Cann Street and Turton Road.

During the refurbishment, Harwood Road will be closed to vehicles between Bradshaw Road and Turton Road. A dual diversion route will be put in place diverting traffic via Market Street, Booth Street, Church Street, Bank Street, Hall Street, Bradshaw Road and Turton Road, Watling Street, Bradshaw Road and vice versa.

The work is part of Bury Council’s regular highways maintenance programme, and is expected to last for eight weeks until the end of September.

A council spokesman said: “Disruption is inevitable when works of this nature take place, but we will try to keep this to a minimum.”
