Press release -
Safer Streets this winter
This December through to January 2026, the anti-social behaviour team, housing services and the police will host community surgeries in Bury Town Centre.
The Safer Streets initiative is a partnership effort to promote public safety, support residents, and strengthen community support and engagement during the festive season.
These surgeries provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to speak directly with staff, raise concerns as well as access advice and support.
Our goal is to maintain Bury Town Centre as a safe and welcoming place, ensuring residents feel supported through the busy festive period.
Councillor Sandra Walmsley, cabinet member for communities and inclusion, said: “These surgeries provide a great opportunity for all residents to come and speak to our team and raise any concerns. Nothing is too big or too small; we want to ensure that everyone can enjoy Bury throughout the festive season. So, if you have any worries or questions, please don’t hesitate to come and talk to us. The teams will be waiting and ready to support you however you need.”
The teams will be in Bury Town Centre 11am - 2pm, on the following dates:
- Wednesday 3rd December
- Wednesday 10th December
- Wednesday 17th December
- Wednesday 7th January
- Wednesday 14th January
- Wednesday 21st January
- Wednesday 28th January
