Press release -
Seven more fined for fly-tipping and littering
A further seven people have been fined for dumping their waste on the streets of the borough.
Fixed penalty notices of £400 were issued for fly-tipping offences at Dumers Lane, Radcliffe; Harwood Crescent, Tottington; Colville Drive, Bury; and Wolsey Street, Radcliffe.
Three £75 FPNs were issued for littering in Parsonage Street, Bury; St Andrew’s Road, Radcliffe; and Merton Street, Bury.
Councillor Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, climate change and operations, said: “Everyone hates litter – it blights our communities, and costs tax payers money to clear it up. We will continue to take action against those who dump their rubbish in our borough.”
He added: “Residents and volunteer groups do a tremendous job in helping to keep our streets clean – if only we all took such pride in our surroundings! If you spot fly-tipping, please report it, giving us all the evidence you have to enable us to tackle the perpetrators.”
