Showing unity as arson-hit library re-opens
Bury Library is being lit up in solidarity with a library in Liverpool which was torched during the summer’s riots.
The Spellow Library is being re-opened following the arson attack, and libraries across the land are showing their unity by lighting up their buildings.
Councillor Charlotte Morris, Bury’s cabinet member for culture, skills and the economy, said: “Libraries are places of sanctuary, knowledge and community, and we are glad to support this national moment of solidarity.”
