Press release -

Sink your teeth into the Big Lunch

Last year’s Big Lunch at Topping Fold Community Centre and Library was such a hit that it will be repeated.

The event, organised with Toppping FoldTenants and Residents Association, will take place on Sunday 2 June from noon to 3pm.

The Big Lunch was started by the Eden Project to get as many people as possible across the UK to have lunch with their neighbours once a year in a simple act of community, friendship and fun. Last year’s event co-incided with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and an estimated 8.5 million took part.

Claire Bebbington, community development officer, said: “The attendance last year was fantastic and everyone pulled together to make the event a great success. This year there will again be lots of things for all the family including animals from Pimhole Farm, Mobile Police Unit, Topping Fold Street Dancers, army trucks, refreshments, bouncy castle, face painting and homemade cakes. The event is free except for a small charge for the burgers and hotdogs.”
