The poll:
At these elections, one third of the council’s 51 seats will be contested – one in each of Bury’s 17 wards.
The exception is in Moorside ward, where the election has been cancelled following the death of one of the candidates. The Moorside poll will be rescheduled to take place within 35 working days of 7 May.
Voters in Moorside will be informed of the new date, and sent new polling cards.
Voters in all other wards should go to the polls as normal on Thursday 7 May.
The results:
The votes will be counted on Friday 8 May. The count will be live streamed at (https://councilstream.com/burycouncil/localelections2026) and published on our website (www.bury.gov.uk) and on our social media accounts X and Facebook(@BuryCouncil).
