Supporting residents with work, skills, health and wellbeing

Our new Bury NeighbourHub brings help with training and employment, life skills and wellbeing support closer to local people.

The new Neighbourhub is now open In the Millgate shopping centre, having moved from its previous location and expanded its offer.

It gives residents the opportunities to learn new skills, improve their confidence, get online and access help into work, making it easier to improve their prospects and build a brighter future.

The Bury NeighbourHub is a key part of Greater Manchester's Live Well approach, making it easier for residents to access joined-up support, skills, employment and wellbeing services in one convenient community location. By bringing partners together under one roof, it helps people get the right support at the right time, improving opportunities and outcomes for local people.

Service providers can also help with health, wellbeing or general advice about services from the council as well as other providers including:

• Ingeus providing employment and skills support including for young people and ex-offenders and helping people manage physical and mental health conditions
• Growth Company, a social enterprise that provides employment, training, and business support services
• The Greater Manchester In-Work Progression Service to help people who are already working but stuck in low-paid, insecure, or part-time jobs move into better roles and increase their earning
• Bury Adult Learning providing courses leading to qualifications, community classes and employability training
• NHS partners
• Citizens Advice Service
• Social care, support if you are renting privately
• Bury Care Academy dedicated to supporting, training, and growing the adult social care sector across the borough.
• Digital inclusion services

Working with our partners the new centre builds on the support that is available and is now in a new location at 18 Union Arcade, Mill Gate Shopping Centre (near B&M).
