Tell I Will If You Will how you’re getting active to win big

I Will If You Will (IWIYW) is asking the people of Bury to head to www.iwillifyouwill.co.uk to tell them how they’re getting active, for how long and how often.

Each week until 30 October there are chances to win great weekly prizes by logging the activity you do.

Whether keeping active by taking the dog for a walk, tackling the gardening, playing in the park with the kids, going for a swim or taking part in an exercise class, IWIYW wants to know about it.

To get started and enter the IWIYW competitions:

  • go to www.iwillifyouwill.co.ukfor your online log;
  • make a pledge and start working towards a goal;
  • log all your activity online.

Every time at least 30 minutes of physical activity is entered on the IWIYW website users will enter a weekly prize draw to win a £250 Intu Gift Card, just in time for Christmas.

Anyone logging their activity for four full weeks will get the extra bonus of a chance to enter the bumper prize draw to win £500 to spend at Intu Trafford Centre.

Councillor Catherine Preston, deputy cabinet member for health and wellbeing at Bury Council, said: “We want Bury to be the most active borough in the North West and we need your help to do it. We need to know how our residents are getting active. Whether it’s taking the dog for a walk, making time for a weekly swim or going to one of our many IWIYW exercise classes, every bit of activity really adds up.

“Logging your activity on the IWIYW website is really easy and there’s the added bonus of the chance to win one of the weekly prizes. We’re looking forward to hearing all about how local residents are getting active and we’re sure the gift cards will be a welcome boost in the run up to Christmas.”

The competition runs until Sunday 30 October. For more information about the competition or to sign up for an online log book, please visit www.iwillifyouwill.co.uk

Note to editors:

I Will If You Will is focused on changing women’s and girls’ behaviours towards taking part in sport and physical activity with the aim of getting more women and girls being more active, more often, and helping improve the health and wellbeing of people in Bury.

It aims to overcome the many practical and emotional barriers to being active, while encouraging women to support each other by joining the I Will If You Will community.

The Phase One campaign (2013–14) was delivered by Bury Council with £2.3 million of National Lottery funding from Sport England. For the Phase Two campaign (2015–16), Sport England has allocated a further £2 million to extend delivery.

The successful IWIYW pilot campaign identified valuable insight and helped develop the foundations for Sport England’s national This Girl Can campaign, which launched in January 2015, as well as Sport England’s practical guide to helping women and girls get active (www.sportengland.org/womenandgirls).
