Tennis table moved after vandals strike again

Vandals have struck again and damaged a concrete table tennis table installed in Whitehead Park,
Bury.

It was one of six tables installed last August in parks across the borough through funding from Sport England, but was broken within days.

The council ordered a replacement but the table has been damaged again. Once it has been repaired, it will now be moved to another park in Bury.

Councillor Tony Isherwood, cabinet member for environment, said: “The vandals who did this must have heads as concrete as the table tennis table. Yet again, a small minority of idiots have spoiled it for everyone else.

“If anyone has any information about who carried out this vandalism, please call the council on 0161 253 5353.”
