Press release -

The Big Draw at Bury Art Museum

Families will have to be quick on the draw at a packed day of activities at Bury Art Museum on Saturday (3 Oct).

The Big Draw All-Dayer features live costume drawing in ‘Draw the Artist’ and a ‘Doodle Disco”, plus an all-day charity postcard auction and a washing line gallery to exhibit your work. Even the Mayor of Bury, Councillor Stella Smith, will be coming in to have a doodle.

The Big Draw is the world's biggest drawing festival, connecting people of all ages with museums, outdoor spaces, artists, designers, illustrators - and each other. It’s for anyone who loves to draw, as well as those who think they can't

Organiser of the Bury event, artist Alison Erika Forde, said: “The Big Draw All Dayer is about having fun and getting more people to give drawing and art a go, from kids to grandparents, the whole family can get involved. It’s also going to be a great way to raise money for two fantastic charities.”

The event will have a charity postcard auction with postcards donated by local artists to raise money for Bury Hospice and The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity.

Doors open at 10.30am with activities running until 3.30pm, and the cost is £4 for one adult and the rest of the family £2 per person. To reserve a place, call 0161 253 5878.

Bury Art Museum has activities running all through October for The Big Draw, including events at Bury Light Night on 16 October and at Halloween. For more information see http://buryartmuseum.co.uk/
