Press release -

The General Election is under way – but are you on the voters’ roll?

Residents are reminded that they have until 26 November to ensure they are registered to vote in the 12 December General Election in the Bury North and Bury South constituencies.

Geoff Little, Returning Officer for Bury, said: “Voting is democracy in action, when the people of Bury get to decide who represents us in Parliament.

“I urge everyone to have their say in these elections, but you have to be on the register first to make your mark. If you need to register to vote, simply go to https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote – it’ll only take five minutes.”

  • Anyone who wishes a postal vote, and is not already registered for one, also has until 26 November to apply. Email the elections office at electionservices@bury.gov.uk or call 0161 253 5252.
