Thousands Take Part as Bury BID 10K Returns to the Town's Streets

Thousands of runners, spectators and volunteers came together for the return of the Bury BID 10K and Mini and Junior events, creating a fantastic atmosphere across the town.

Organised by Jane Tomlinson's Run For All in partnership with Bury Council and title sponsor Bury BID, the event once again welcomed participants of all ages and abilities for a day of running, fundraising and community spirit.

Starting and finishing outside The Rock Shopping Centre, runners took on the popular 10K route, heading through Tottington and along Bury Road before joining the scenic Kirklees Trail and making their way back towards the town centre. From experienced club runners chasing fast times to first-time participants achieving personal goals, the event showcased the very best of the local running community.

The day also featured an impressive competitive element, with some of the region's leading athletes battling for top honours.

In the men's race, Luke Harrisonclaimed victory in a time of 32.05. Luke Edwards finished second in 32.51, while Kouros Driscoll secured third place with a time of 34.16.

In the women's race, Sophie Whittakercrossed the finish line first in an impressive 37.47. Alice Bernsteintook second place in 40.16, followed by Frankie Harrington, who completed the course in 41.00.

Beyond the finish-line achievements, the event provided an important opportunity for participants to raise money for good causes. Thousands of pounds were raised for charities both local and national, helping to make a meaningful difference to communities across the region and beyond.

The event's inclusive atmosphere continued throughout the day with the Mini and Junior races, giving hundreds of young runners aged 3 to 14 the chance to be part of the occasion. The events showcased the next generation of runners, with participants displaying incredible enthusiasm, determination and enjoyment as they crossed the finish line to collect their medals.
