Transforming play in Prestwich

Play is a vital part of every child's development by helping children build confidence, develop social skills, stay active and explore the world around them.

Well-designed playgrounds create welcoming community spaces that bring families and neighbours together.

Residents across Prestwich are being invited to have their say on exciting plans to improve three local playgrounds as part of a £270,000 Government-funded investment in children's play facilities.

It’s part of the government's £18 million Playground Fund, which aims to improve access to high-quality, inclusive and accessible play facilities in areas of greatest need, Bury Council is inviting residents to help shape the future of local play provision in Prestwich.

The investment will support enhancements at St Mary's Park, Kersal Road Play Area and Fairways Play Area.

Residents are encouraged to complete an online survey and share their ideas on the type of play equipment and improvements they would like to see at these sites.
