Volunteers urgently needed to spruce up day centre gardens

Pinfold Lane Day Care Centre in Whitefield is appealing for green-fingered volunteers to spruce up their gardens for spring.

The centre will open its doors on Saturday 5 April to anyone who can help with gardening tasks in preparation for its annual Spring Fayre.

Pinfold desperately needs help with a range of tasks including staining the fences, gates and the new shed, planting the new raised-bed feature, cleaning up all of the furniture and the edges and, weather permitting, planting some sensory plants.

The doors will be open from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Volunteers are asked to wear suitable clothes and, if they wish, bring their own tools. Refreshments will be provided.

Pinfold also invites everyone to the Spring Fayre on Sunday 13 April. The event will run from 12–2pm and will raise funds for customer amenities. There will be stalls, raffles and games for all the family – donations for prizes will also be greatly appreciated.

For more details, call Katrina Baker on 0161 253 7371 or email k.k.baker@bury.gov.uk

Anyone who would like more information about carers support groups, or about hiring the centre, should call 0161 253 7371 or email pinfold.lane@bury.gov.uk
