Press release -

You shall go to the ball!

Free tickets are being offered to what organisers hope will be a real dancing revival.

The Radcliffe Renaissance Ball is on 17 January at the town’s civic suite, and will be the first of regular weekly social dances on Thursday evenings.

To tempt visitors, organisers Dance Events North West are offering free admission (limited numbers) to the first event, which will have sequence dancing, ballroom and latin, a 15-minute line dancing session from Prestwich Frontliners, and music from DJ Dancing Dave.

The idea came from brother and sister David and Susan, who were remembering the days when they played dance music together in local clubs at the tender age of 16; hardly surprising, as they had been brought up in a musical household where their dad played in dance bands and their mum danced.

Keen to share their enthusiasm for dance and dance music, they began planning a series of local social dancing events.

Tickets for the Radcliffe Renaissance Ball are available from Radcliffe Civic Suite on 0161 253 7812 andfrom Dance Events North West on 07842 792439.

The next dance night will take place on 20 February, followed by weekly sessions in March, April and May.
