Press release -

Your chance to vote for community project funding

Residents are invited to vote for which community projects will receive up to £1,000 funding for work in their neighbourhoods.

Applications from a range of groups have now been received, and now it is time for the public to have their say at two events called The Pitch, when the groups will make their case and the people decide.

The public voting events are on:

  • Tuesday 11 July, 5.30pm at the Derby High School
  • Tuesday 25 July, 5.30pm at the Longfield Suite, Prestwich

Councillor Tamoor Tariq, cabinet member for communities, said: “This puts residents at the heart of the decision-making process. Each applicant will give a short three-minute pitch and you can vote for the projects you feel will have a positive impact.

“Anyone who lives, works or has an interest in the area can attend these events, and your vote will help kickstart local community projects designed and delivered for local people. Please come along and make difference to your area.”
