LikeMeat brings the ‘WOW’ factor to the plant-based food category

Tasted and tested by chefs, the next-level Chicken Chunks are LikeMeat’s answer to the category’s need for better tasting plant-based alternatives that will ‘WOW’ consumers.

LIVEKINDLY Collective, a collection of plant-based brands, pushes plant-based food quality standards to the next level with LikeMeat’s WOW Chicken Chunks. The new and improved product offers the best taste & texture experience yet, is high in fiber, filled with plant-based protein [>19 % per 100 g] and made with kitchen-recognizable ingredients. It is the brand’s latest innovation, answering customers’ demand and the category’s need for an easy-to-prepare, delicious alternative to replace animal-based protein in favorite dishes.

“You would have heard recently that the plant-based meats category is no longer growing. The WOW Chunk

The new chicken chunk from LikeMeat has been developed by LIVEKINDLY Collective’s R&D team and follows in the footsteps of the recently launched innovative Like Chicken Burger, awarded Product of the Year of 2022 in the Netherlands.

“The new chunk incorporates European soy using an innovative technique, which creates a juicy and tender texture. In addition, we changed the formulation and improved the taste significantly. We have tested it with chefs and consumers and their initial reaction has been ‘WOW!’, hence why we called it that way,” adds Achim Knoch, Head of R&D Europe at LIVEKINDLY Collective.  

Line Tscherning Damgaard, Vegan Chef at LikeMeat was one of the first to taste test the new product. She comments: “The first change I noticed was the smell, it's amazing. As a long-time vegan the WOW chicken really made me do a doubletake to check it wasn't actually chicken. Turns out it's the same for the texture and taste, it's crazy to think that we still eat chickens when LikeMeat has figured out how to make it from plants."

The new WOW Like Chicken Chunks are produced at LIVEKINDLY Collective’s purely plant-based production facility in Oss, the Netherlands, and available from today in its fastest growing market Germany - and soon in the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Finland and South Africa.
