Power pop foursome Lucy and the Rats drop new video to announce sophomore release of new LP "Got Lucky"

Power pop foursome Lucy and the Rats formed after Lucy Ellis moved to London from Melbourne, Australia (where she was part of the Spazzys, a pop-punk three-piece that actually saw their first 3 singles hit the ARIA Single Chart and their debut album enter the AIR independent chart at No. 1).

After several singles and their 2018 debut album which received lots of praise around the world, Lucy and the Rats are back with their sophomore album ‘Got Lucky’. The arrival of new Lucy and the Rats tunes is always a beloved event for power pop fans. And with reason: The band is back with its signature pure pop sound and a dozen bittersweet melodic gems. You’ll hear how Lucy has refined her songwriting talents as she’s grown into a true master of the popcraft. This album contains her finest work to date, including heartfelt, and absolutely beautiful pop songs that would have been all over the radio in the early '80s.

This is an album that keeps on giving, and you’d have to have a heart of stone to not be moved by the sounds and words coming out of Lucy’s mouth. And then, of course, there’s the punk Rat’s brilliant support; Joe the Dog (Los Perros, Johnny Throttle, and every good band), Manu (Thee Tumbitas, Johnny Throttle, Raw Fun, Michael Jackson), and Liam (The Gaggers, Johnny Throttle, Scraps).
