THE DARTS (US): All-Grrrl-Riot-Rock Sensation Hook Up With Punk Legends THE DAMNED on US TOUR

For the initial new batch of promotional photos for their upcoming nationwide tour supporting The Damned, the four members of  The Darts are all dressed for the kill. The women -- singer and keys player Nicole Laurenne, guitarist Meliza Jackson, bassist and singer Christina Nunez and drummer and singer Rikki Styxx -- aren’t afraid of having a little fun with their image, to the extent that their chosen band description on their Facebook page reads, “Garage-psych-rock-grrls who will make your head slam and your feet shake. And then there’s the music.”

The band formed in early 2016 and have exploded all over the music scene since being picked up by Dirty Water Records (after their second ever gig!) and show no sign of stopping their takeover of the planet , having quickly become a well-seasoned touring machine with multiple US and European tours already under their belts.

If you want your adrenalin to stream faster, if you want your senses to go bananas, if you want your limbs to move in unknown directions, look no further than this outspoken, quick-witted, full-female powerhouse. Their  debut album "Me.Ow." was an eye-opener, as its thirteen intense songs yielded an experience that can only be described as a mind warp.

Having already built a devoted fan base around the globe, they’ve have recently released their first ever 7″ as a collaboration with Alternative Tentacles Records and Dirty Water Records USA. They’ve also just reissued their twin debut 10" EP's; melted in full-bloom on a spectacular slab of 12" pink splattered vinyl.

Once upon a time – and not that long ago actually – many within the music industry and even fans held the belief that “girls can’t rock”. The notion that a group of women could unleash explosive rock ‘n roll was unthinkable to many. It has been only a little over forty years since The Runaways changed the music landscape, and in 2018, ‘grrls’ in rock are back blasting up the music scene like never before. These four women are well acquainted with the history of women in rock, and this comes out through their music. Their years of being in different bands mean they are each able to bring something to the table for us to deliciously dine on.

The Dirty Water Club started in October 1996 in the Tufnell Park neighbourhood of north London, at a venue called The Boston. The club's name is derived from The Standells' 1966 hit 'Dirty Water' which glorifies the US city of Boston, Massachusetts.

Past performers have included The White Stripes (voted by Q Magazine as one of the top 10 gigs of all time, Mojo one of the top 30 and Kerrang one of the top 100!), The Gories, Country Teasers, Black Lips, NOBUNNY, Kid Congo Powers, The Fleshtones, Billy Childish, Radio Birdman, The Dirtbombs, Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, The 5.6.7.8's, The Horrors and The Brian Jonestown Massacre to name just a few. The club has also seen some original '60s performers, such as The Monks, ? and the Mysterians, Kim Fowley, Sky Saxon, GONN, Michael Davis of the MC5 and more grace its stage.

Their in-house record label, Dirty Water Records, is one of the leading garage/beat/(real) R&B labels in the world.
