THE OXYS New Album, GENERATION IRRELEVANT, Drops Today via Dead Beat Records

July 21, 2023 (Austin, TX) — The Oxys new album titled Generation Irrelevant drops today. Dead Beat Records head honcho Tom Spencer warns “certain vinyl pressings sell out super quick, including the hot pink which is all gone, and the splatter which is gonna fly out the door. Classic black is always cool, but those colored vinyl variations go quickest." Find splatter vinyl HERE.

Generation Irrelevant has been received exceedingly well at press. Cosmic Clash says the album is "...packed with a traditional power-punk sound...tracks hit like a thrilling roller coaster ride, capturing the essence of raw, punk rock intensity." While PunkSite.com hails it as “an absolutely blistering album filled with some wicked guitar licks, tub-thumping drums, a bass that drives it along relentlessly, and most of all a sense of speeding towards a brick wall without a crash helmet!" And Jersey Beat points out that “The Oxys bring a sleazy, gritty Lower east Side of the 1980s vibe to their brand of catchy punk.”

“Mr. Horrible,” the first video off the album, was premiered by Vive le Rock. The song has also aired on radio stations like WFMU, KEXP, and KUTX. A video for “Isolation” will drop on August 21st. The band has been working hard to foster authentic connections with their cult following, building a Reddit community, and posting exclusive content on their TikTok page. “Our page is the home for all video vomit you won’t find on our other accounts,” says guitarist Genocide. “We cater to the punk rock ‘n’ roll fans, era-enthusiasts, meme lords, and vinyl collectors. There are really some awesome communities there."

Generation Irrelevant was recorded at Ice Cream Studios with Matt Parmenter. Ginchy completed the final mix at his home facility. Famed mastering engineer Jack Butcher at Austin’s Enormous Door Studio added the finishing touches. Formats include vinyl LP, CD (which includes two bonus tracks) and digital.
