EPISODE 003 - Bal Pop - Les porteurs de projets ont la parole.

I am the director of the Villerupt MJC, an association for socio-cultural education which was founded nearly 60 years ago in the town of Villerupt and surrounding region as a bastion of cultural access for everyone.

In the context of the Esch2022, we wanted to put forward a “Bal Pop” project, the idea being to offer the population a festive and convivial initiative, which would, all at once, combine both dancing and music of all genres, as well as all cultures and ages.

Ahead of this socio-cultural event, we would suggest that the population really get fully involved in the project, taking an active part in organising convivial moments of fellowship, cultural exchange, some more traditional, some more contemporary, cultures of all faiths, the idea being to create a social bond amongst us, to operate in a capacity of grassroots unification.

“Remix Culture” for us, it’s really about sharing, cultural exchanges through music, through dance, and through theatre; the idea being to gather together in a celebratory context and have fun all together.
