Creative collages on board the ‘Esvagt Albert Betz’

ESVAGT has commissioned the designer duo, Tex&Jack, to take on the interior design of the SOV new build ‘Esvagt Albert Betz’ for MHI Vestas.

The designer duo Tex&Jack have been adding colour to the interior of the new build SOV ‘Esvagt Albert Betz’ for MHI Vestas.

Tex&Jack work with scalpel and scissors to cut out the tiny details that are married together to make imaginative collages with all sorts of subjects from circus elephants and flowers to wrapping paper, city scenes and scantily dressed women.

‘We are inspired by the enormous variation and special feel of the pictures. There is a great deal of personality in them and much for the eye to discover,’ says Tina Roloff, responsible for vessel interiors at ESVAGT.

ESVAGT has commissioned around 60 different motifs for cabins, stairwells, corridors and communal areas.

Decorating vessels with artwork and colours is an ESVAGT tradition - artists and graphic designers like Leif Sylvester, René Holm, Lotte Lambæk, Jakob Herskind and Lars Henning Andersen have previously decorated vessels, and commissions have also been given to Esbjerg’s photography club and Esbjerg’s School of Culture.

‘It is a good way of creating a homelike atmosphere. To make it feel like home, an interior needs to be personal and coordinated,’ says Tina Roloff.

The artists are delighted with the assignment:

‘This is our first time decorating a vessel and it is like having a permanent exhibition. We hope that the guests and crew on board will find the style interesting and explore the pictures,’ says Tex&Jack.
