Southern today confirmed it ran over nine in 10 (90.5%) of its normal train service during yesterday's RMT strike.

In response to the RMT calling another day of strike action on 13 March, a Southern spokesperson said: “This will be the 30th day of RMT strike action for Southern passengers and today’s news is clearly disappointing."
Train operator Southern is asking passengers who had season tickets last year to check if they may be eligible for compensation, under a scheme launched by the Department of Transport.
From this week passengers travelling to Rye are being wowed with a new exhibition made up of railway memorabilia from years gone organised by Sussex Community Rail Partnership (SCRP).
Passengers are advised to check before travelling tomorrow, Thursday 23rd February as gale force winds from Storm Doris have prompted Network Rail to impose speed restrictions.
Southern Rail has today released details of the trains it expects to run on Wednesday 22 February, when the RMT stages a 24 hour strike.
"We are disappointed that the RMT is going to heap yet further misery and disruption on the travelling public. We aim to run as full a service as we can."
Visitors to Newhaven will have a brighter, more welcoming approach to the railway station and port, thanks to a joint effort between Southern, Newhaven Port Authority, and local gardening business Burley’s as part of the local station partnership.
"We came to today’s meeting hopeful we could find a way forward to end the RMT’s dispute and we’re saddened it’s ended so prematurely."
