Open sesame at Elstree & Borehamwood station

Press release -

Open sesame at Elstree & Borehamwood station

Thameslink commuters have an easier journey through Elstree & Borehamwood station now that the rail operator has widened the doorway.

Andrew Sidgwick, Thameslink's Programme Manager, said: "We wanted to do something about congestion getting in and out of the station booking hall in the rush hour. The finishing touches are still being applied but passengers are already noticing the difference.

"We've been steadily improving the station at Elstree & Borehamwood for our passengers with a new station forecourt, bus interchange and passenger footbridge with lifts.

"This, along with the close working partnership we have with the community, including the fabulous work of First Impressions, has led to many improvements and a welcoming gateway to the town.

"Next up is a feasibility study we're working on to replace the entire station building with a more modern, spacious structure that would deliver still further benefits to the thriving community."
