Press release -

Thameslink announces extra Saturday services between Luton and London

Improvements to the Thameslink Saturday timetable this spring will provide passengers who use stations between West Hampstead and Luton with two more trains every hour to and from London, and direct services to and from North Kent. This will also increase connectivity to Luton Airport on Saturdays for the entire Thameslink network.

From Saturday 23 May, Thameslink’s half-hourly service between Kentish Town and Rainham will be extended to Luton, calling at West Hampstead, Mill Hill Broadway, Elstree & Borehamwood, Radlett, St Albans, Harpenden and Luton Airport Parkway. There are no other permanent timetable changes planned for this part of the Thameslink network.

Thameslink Managing Director Tom Moran said: “These extended services will give thousands of our passengers a more frequent Saturday service to and from central London, improve our service for travellers using Luton Airport, and provide more weekend travel options on direct trains to popular destinations such as Greenwich.”

Editor’s note

These Saturday services will no longer call at Kentish Town, which will continue to be served by the four trains per hour each way on the route between St Albans and Sutton.
