Press release -

Warm welcome for Hatfield hot drinks

Passengers at Hatfield station can now sit and relax with a cup of quality coffee and a pastry with the opening of the iamcoffee shop in the station’s extension. With seats for 20 customers it is the first sit-down outlet at the station, a long-awaited attraction.

Iamcoffee sells a range of popular and specialist coffees and teas, and its 40% cocoa luxury hot chocolate is already proving a great success. Delicious fresh French pastries are offered alongside tin loaf cakes, vegan and gluten free brownies, American muffins, Danish pastries and apricot cakes. Alongside all this indulgence there are plans to introduce “healthy breakfasts” soon.

Davinder Jheeta Creative Director - Operations for iamcoffee, said: “We are delighted to have worked with GTR to open the first iamcoffee outlet, which we are confident will be the first of many. We look forward to welcoming customers to the shop and providing them with excellent, expertly chosen and prepared coffee.”

With its first outlet welcomed warmly at Hatfield, iamcoffee has ambitions to build a chain of quality coffee shops. They have identified two sites in the Midlands for their next outlets.

Anna Kiddle, GTR’s Senior Business Development Manager said: “We’ve worked hard to create a spacious environment for our passengers to relax and enjoy a coffee and snack before making their journey. I am delighted to see this redevelopment come to fruition and to now see a vibrant coffee shop open for all.”

Mary Lowe, representing the Hatfield Association of Rail Travellers, said: "It’s great to see the coffee shop open – we expect it to be a very welcome resource to both rail passengers and the local community, and we are looking forward to seeing how the menu develops."
