Passengers travelling between Gatwick Airport and London will soon be able to use pay as you go, Rail Minister Claire Perry confirmed today (Tuesday 10 November 2015), thanks to an agreement between the government, Transport for London (TfL) and the operator, Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR).
Responding to stakeholder feedback, Great Northern is delighted to be creating a seven-day-a-week train service from Finsbury Park to Moorgate in the heart of the City, which will be better for shoppers and late-returning commuters.
Thameslink is introducing new Monday to Saturday overnight services between London and Bedford in December which will make it much easier to travel to Luton Airport by train for early morning flight check-in.
The new timetable for Southern and Gatwick Express starts on Sunday 13 December with significant changes to off-peak services. The new timetable, designed to bring improved performance also paves the way for the final Thameslink timetable in 2018.
