  • Ansaldo STS awarded Modernisation of Glasgow Subway, Scotland

    The Ansaldo STS - Stadler consortium won contracts to modernize the subway of Glasgow with state-of-the-art technology, including the supply of 17 new trains, Communication Based Train Control driverless signalling technology, platform screen doors and depot equipment, and related maintenance support services to upgrade 10.5 km long twin subway lines, and 15 stations.

    From today [10 February], customers can step on board the next generation of electric trains for Scotland.   • Hitachi Rail Italy to manufacture AT300 trains for GWR in the West of England

    ​Hitachi Rail Italy today announces that a new fleet of AT300 trains for the UK train operating company Great Western Railway (GWR) will be manufactured at Hitachi Rail Italy’s facility in Pistoia. Hitachi Rail Europe finalised a deal in July 2015 to supply and maintain 29 brand new AT300 trains for the GWR franchise.

  • Ansaldo STS Awarded MBTA PTC Contract

    Ansaldo STS was awarded a $338 million contract from Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) to furnish a complete Positive Train Control (PTC) system on their entire Commuter Rail network. Ansaldo STS's scope of work will include design, integration, delivery of materials, onboard and field installation, testing, commissioning, technical support and documentation for the PTC system.

  • A new contract worth 190 million euro for regional trains

    A contract worth 190 million euro for Hitachi Rail Italy. The rail company was awarded a contract by Trenitalia for the supply of new regional trains for the FS commuter service. The operator has exercised the right of option provided for in the contract signed in March 2010. The supply contract is for a total of112 intermediate double-deck coaches and 24 driving cars, all of 2nd class.
