Lindab Southern Golf Day 2022

We had the pleasure of hosting our Southern Golf Day at the prestigious Remedy Oak Golf Club again this year. The club house was bustling as the various teams enjoyed breakfast and prepared for a successful game. Customers and sponsors joined us to compete for fantastic prizes or to support from the sidelines and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere of the day.

There were some tense moments throughout the course as players competed to get closest to the pin or hit the longest drive. The 4th hole proved trickier than expected, no-one landed on the green meaning closest to the pin wasn't won. Arriving at the refreshment station after the 9th hole, Nick Pennington from Velocity Sheet Metal Installation celebrated as he came closest to the pin. Players enjoyed half-way drinks and snacks, including exceptional sausage rolls recommended by Wayne Crossan.

It was an impressive second nine for Karl Nye from Calmec who was closest to the 13th hole, then another swing in the right direction achieved the longest drive on the 15th. The club house patio at Remedy Oak has the perfect view to see the final swings as the players hope to cross the water without a splash to get to the 18th green. There was a vibrant good-hearted atmosphere full of laughter as each team came in. Neil Crittle got closest to the pin in 2 on the 18th though it was very close to call.

After a day of golfing in the sun, our players had worked up an appetite and after a refreshing drink in the 19th hole, we sat down to enjoy an incredible dinner. The food was spectacular, and the service from the team at Remedy Oak was impeccable as always.

The moment of truth arrived as it was then time for our Managing Director, Iain Robertson to announce winners and present trophies and prizes along with our sponsors.

In the hard-fought Individual Stableford competition, 3rd place went to Scott Smith from Calmec , Richard Holmes of Ductwork Services (IOW) took 2nd and the ultimate winner was Chris Nicholls also from Calmec. What a day for Calmec!

There was a buzz of banter over the team competition, Team 1 consisting of Iain Robertson, Robin Hayes, John Beach and Andrew Sargent, took 3rd place,. Second place went to Team 8 consisting of Wayne Crossan, Nick Pennington, Allan Sherman and Jamie Banks. First place trophies and bragging rights for the next year went to Team 5 players James Hayes, Richard Holmes, Mark Hutton and Steve Legg- congratulations!

As a bit of fun, Iain then presented our Wood Spoon prize which went to Lorna Kerrigan-Hall of Vent Axia who took it in great spirit.

We took the opportunity to finish the day with a group photo. We would like to thank our sponsors, players, spectators, and the Remedy Oak team for a memorable day with wonderful company.

Photos of the day can be found on the Lindab UK Facebook page.
