Commercial partnerships support our Awards delivery but also help us make London the Most Active City

Business Development and Partnerships Manager Jennie Rivett looks at the commercial organisations who will be supporting the London Sport Awards and how partnerships form a crucial part of our mission.

With our London Sport Awards shortlist announced last week, the countdown to the London Sport Awards ceremony on Monday 6 December is now well and truly on.

I can’t wait to see, covid-19 restrictions permitting of course, all our shortlisted individuals and organisations at the Guildhall for a celebration of their incredible efforts over the past year.

The Awards is our opportunity to highlight, celebrate and thank those unsung heroes who have gone above and beyond for their communities throughout London – it’s an inspirational evening.

And I’m delighted that the City of London Corporation, Chipotle and GameDay join us as commercial partners to help us achieve a truly memorable evening for everyone who will be in attendance.

The City of London Corporation are the Awards’ headlines sponsor for the second year running which means we’ll, once again, have the honour of hosting the event at the Guildhall.

Our ongoing partnership, which has also seen us complete some Consultancy work for them, sees them support The Business Contribution Award.

Similarly, our relationship with Chipotle will be one many of you are aware of as we continue to crown a monthly Chipotle Community Champion – the volunteers who make sport happen.

It is fitting then that Chipotle are also showing their support for The Enhancing the Workforce Award where The ACE Programme Charity, Street Games and Tigers Junior Football are all shortlisted.

GameDay meanwhile are supporting The Community Impact Award as they continue their mission to make the management of sports participation easier using innovative technology.

I’m delighted to have GameDay on board for the Awards as part of a developing partnership which will also see them utilise our tech expertise via our Sport Tech Hub and London Sport Consultancy services.

We still have Awards packages available for businesses looking to show their support for the grassroots physical activity and sport sector in London – contact me for details.

However, I also hope that, as you’ll see from the partners we already have on board, a partnership with London Sport is mutually beneficial and can be so much more than a one-off event.

Our vision remains for London to be the most active city in the world; we cannot achieve this alone. Only through genuine partnership, where organisations thrive alongside us, can we achieve our goal.
