Eight reasons you can’t miss Active London 2019

Communications Officer Andrew Lawton has been involved in the planning for next week’s Active London event. With the deadline to purchase tickets coming at the end of this week, he takes you through eight reasons you need to be there.

The team have been working extremely hard to make Active London 2019 bigger and better than last year’s conference at the Kia Oval – remind yourself of our 2018 event here.

A trio of insightful morning plenary sessions will all focus on innovation, followed by topic-specific workshops ensuring there’s useful content and learnings for the entire sector.

Industry experts

We’ve got more than 30 fantastic speakers coming to share their expertise and knowledge with delegates. They’re all experts in their field, covering everything from research segmentation to urban environments, so you’ll have plenty of new ideas to take back to your organisation.

Interactive workshops

Our four workshops cover everything from esports to community development so picking your one track won’t be an easy decision. Once you’ve booked on though, you’re set for an interactive and informative afternoon of content that will give you plenty to think about on the journey home.

Networking opportunities

Active London is the capital’s largest conference solely dedicated to the progression of physical activity and sport, so you’re bound to see a few familiar faces. Great news. There will also be plenty of people you’ve never met before though as we welcome delegates from transport, planning, children and young people, professional sports clubs and much more.

Experience innovation

In addition to the two catering stations, we’ll have plenty to keep you entertained throughout your lunch break. Don’t worry about checking those emails, get onto our innovation wall, have Fun with Balls, or learn about Volfsball and Beat Fitness. Find out more on the day itself.

Chance to get yourself active

Book onto one of our two guided walks, from Charing Cross or King’s Cross and get your steps up before the day has even begun. Progress towards that 10,000-step mark by getting off the tube a stop or two early. Sign-up now and join London Sport staff to start your day in the perfect way.

Win great prizes

If the health benefits of a walk to 30 Euston Square wasn’t enough, we’re putting some great prizes up for grabs thanks to our partnership with Street Tag. Collect virtual tags on the Street Tag app throughout the day and earn points (and points mean prizes). Prizes include cocktails for two at the top of the Shard, Para-Swimming World Championship tickets, Kukri apparel vouchers and more.

Central London location

30 Euston Square is right outside Euston station, one of the biggest transport hubs in London with easy mainline and London underground links. Euston Square underground is less than two minutes away and King’s Cross St Pancras is under ten minutes down the road. It couldn’t be better placed.

Value for money

The day costs just £55, cheaper if you buy a group ticket with four of your colleagues. That gets you access to three esteemed keynote speakers and an insightful panel discussion as well as a choice of workshop content for two sessions in the afternoon. Tea, coffee and lunch is all provided.
