London Sport Consultancy commissioned to support Hillingdon Council identify current and future need for local cycling facilities

London Sport Consultancy has been commissioned by Hillingdon Council to undertake a comprehensive review of two of the borough’s major cycling facilities.

The Cycling Facility Needs Joint-Assessment will focus on the existing BMX track facilities at Lake Farm Country Park and the Hillingdon Cycle Circuit at Minet Country Park.

The aim of the study is to support Hillingdon Council make evidence-based decisions on cycling development at these sites.

The report will develop our understanding of the current state of cycling facilities and active infrastructure, potential future resident needs and opportunities, and headline investment planning.

London Sport are partnering with Sporting Assets to deliver the feasibility study in West London.

It is a partnership which brings together London Sport’s local insight and strategy expertise with Sporting Asset’s specialist facilities, community, and cycling knowledge and experience.

British Cycling, the national governing body for cycling in Britain, will be a key stakeholder throughout the process and support the implementation of recommendations at the next stage.

“We are delighted that London Sport Consultancy will be undertaking this study, which will help the council to build on its cycling offer.”
