Excitement building as MEA Enterprise Week 2020 announced

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council will once again celebrate local innovators and entrepreneurs as it hosts MEA Enterprise Week 2020.

Running from November 16 to 22, the week-long programme features a series of talks, workshops and insight sessions into everything and anything business-related.

From tackling social media to improving marketing skills and practical tips on how to start a business, the packed free schedule has something for everyone whether you are up-and-running or just mulling over that big business idea.

This year things will be a little bit different in light of the global pandemic with many of the talks and presentations moving online alongside some socially distanced ‘in the flesh’ sessions.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Peter Johnston, says the new format will mean even more people can get involved.

“The spirit of innovation and entrepreneurial thinking is clearly evident this year as we reveal a hybrid of online and traditional sessions,” he said.

“This will ensure even more people can get involved and enhance their skills, knowledge and business opportunities in the wide variety of classes, talks and programmes on offer throughout the week.

“Our small and medium enterprises are essential components of the local economy, and as a Council, we are delighted to support them and encourage them to get involved in this week-long initiative.”

Led by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council in partnership with business support organisations, further information on Enterprise Week 2020 can be found at amplifymidandeastantrim.com/enterprise-week/.

Before all that, local micro-enterprises will be able to show off their innovative side and potentially win £1,500, as well as mentoring and PR support in the Start Up and Innovate competition which closes on Monday, 2 November.
