Man charged in Uxbridge murder investigation
Met detectives have charged a 22-year-old man following a triple stabbing in Uxbridge that sadly left one man dead.
Safi Dawood, 22 (13.03.03), of Midhurst Gardens, Uxbridge, was charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, and possession of an offensive weapon on Wednesday, 29 October. He will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 30 October.
At 17:00 hrs on Monday, 27 October, the Met was called to reports that three people had been stabbed in Midhurst Gardens, Uxbridge.
Met officers attended the scene alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, who treated three victims for stab wounds.
A 49-year-old man was treated at the scene for stab wounds. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, he died at the scene. He has now been named as Wayne Broadhurst. His family is being supported by officers.
Safi Dawood and Wayne Broadhurst were not known to one another.
Two other people—a 45-year-old man, who remains in hospital with life-changing injuries, and a 14-year-old boy, who has been discharged from hospital with neither life-changing nor life-threatening injuries—are also being supported by officers. They were known to Safi Dawood.
Safi Dawood was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Dawood was assessed when he entered custody and later required hospital treatment after suffering a medical episode. He has since returned to police custody, where he remains ahead of his court appearance.
