Police appeal for information after serious collision in Kilburn
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on Kilburn High Road on the evening of Tuesday, 3 February.
At around 17:09hrs police were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a vehicle and a boy on Kilburn High Road.
Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service, who treated a 5-year-old boy at the scene before taking him to hospital. His condition has been assessed as life-changing.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene. After enquiries, the man was later located by police and arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. The 57-year-old male remains in custody pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Mark Braithwaite, from the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the young child and his family at this difficult time and we continue to do everything we can to piece together exactly what took place.
“As part of our enquiries we are appealing for the public’s help. We ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam footage, to come forward and contact officers. Any information, no matter how small, could be extremely helpful to the investigation.”
