    Grand opening of Europe's first ski airport with a 10 minute transfer to the slopes. Scandinavian Mountains Airport welcomed its first flight today (December 22nd), with direct SAS flights from London Heathrow starting next Saturday December 28th. With transfers to Sälen, Sweden from just 10 minutes, British skiers can fly in the morning and be out on the slopes after lunch.

    The development of the ski area in Hundfjället, Sälen, located less than 10 minutes from the new Scandinavian Mountains Airport, which is under construction, is a step towards an international ski resort, with Scandinavia's most modern 8-seater express chairlift, new ski runs and expanded snow-making facilities.

In addition to a covering of natural snow, the conditions for snow production have been good. Bookings, expressed as the number of overnight stays, are 2 percent higher than at the same point in the previous year.

    SkiStars famous and popular children’s character Valle the snowman was already in his first winter in St. Johann a success for families who visited St. Johann. Now in the second winter Valle will introduce his unique ski school. Valle’s ski school teaches all kids from 3 to 9 years how to ski and to be safe and secure skiers with educated ski instructors from St. Johann’s local ski schools.
