    To mark the start of the the international conference STAMMAFest Global in Liverpool 24-28th August, STAMMA have launched a series of hard-hitting billboard adverts in Liverpool, showing people mid-stammer, with the words, 'Nothing to see here, I just have a stammer.'

    GLOBAL CONFERENCE FOR PEOPLE WHO STAMMER A SELL OUT

    Ticketing has now closed for STAMMAFest Global, with over 300 delegates expected to attend. Among the discussions taking place will be 'Is there beauty in stammering?', creating change (tackling discrimination) through litigation, and how to encourage employers to create a better working environment. Speakers include Actor and podcaster Scroobius Pip and poet Owen Sheers.

    STAMMA are holding an international stammering conference at Liverpool University, 24-28 August. A 5-day extravaganza which incorporates STAMMA’s biennial conference and the International Stuttering Association’s (ISA) World Congress. Speakers include actor and podcaster Scroobius Pip, author Hannah Tovey, Poet Owen Sheers and activist Patrick Campbell.

    STAMMA, The British Stammering Association, is urging broadcasters, including Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV and the BBC, to include people who stammer on the small and silver screen in a love letter on social media, supported by organisations around the world representing those who stammer/stutter.

    STAMMA is disappointed in the judgement in this case. Many people who stammer use avoidance techniques to hide or manage their stammer to the point that when they say that they stammer, struggle to talk, they are disbelieved. Future litigants need to demonstrate that the stammer has a significantly adverse on their life and we'd urge them to bring in professional expertise to help them prepare.
