The Nordic industrial sector is facing a critical bottleneck: the lack of high-quality housing for the required workforce. Now, Petter Stordalen’s Strawberry Group is launching a new company, Lynra. By combining climate-smart modular construction with "hotel DNA," Lynra aims to challenge the traditional industrial services market, targeting a billion-kronor turnover within five years.
With an ambitious goal of being emission-neutral in its own operations by 2030, Strawberry has now entered into a sustainability-linked loan agreement with DNB where the interest rate is controlled by the hotel company's climate accounts. Strawberry Hospitality Group has recently refinanced a loan of NOK 2.8 billion with DNB and tied the margin determination to the company's sustainability work.
The fund, which will be launched in April, is intended to finance the development of climate-friendly solutions for the hotel industry with the aim of creating a greener future. In connection with the launch of the fund, Nordic Choice Hotels offers its guests to contribute by pass on room cleaning during their stay at the hotels under a concept called Green Stay.
