    Powys Teen wins national award for Caring

    Grace Matthews, 16, from Crickhowell, has won a national Carer Award for her dedication in supporting her mum recover after a stroke. Grace was just 13 when her mum, Heidi, had a stroke which affected her speech and sight.

    Emma Raven, 37, from Bootle in Merseyside, has won a national courage award for her commitment to raising awareness of stroke after surviving her own stroke in 2014. Emma’s stroke caused her to miscarry her baby and left her with long-term disabililties.

    Portsmouth brother and sister Marvin Fray and Bethany Foley, have been awarded a Life After Stroke Award for fundraising, after they brought in over £27,000 for the Stroke Association. They were presented with their award by Warwick Davis and Stephen K Amos at the Stroke Association’s Life After Stroke Awards at the Landmark hotel in London on 21 November 2018.
