A teacher from Ashton-Under-Lyne successfully scaled Alphin Pike in Saddleworth non-stop for 24 hours on Friday 19 June, to raise vital funds for the Stroke Association.

James runs marathon for his Mum
A former England 800m runner has taken up the marathon challenge to raise funds for the Stroke Association after his mum Lynne had a stroke recently which has temporarily put her own marathon running experience on hold. James Mayo, who formerly lived in Andover, completed the Providence Marathon in Rhode Island in the US in just 3hrs 41mins.

A World of Singing for Stroke

Local business goes purple-fingered to support the Stroke Association
Staff at Lloyds Bank turned purple-fingered this Action on Stroke Month, grabbing their spades and brooms to volunteer their time gardening at the Stroke Association’s Life after Stroke Centre in Bromsgrove.
On Thursday 14 May, 47 members of Lloyds Bank staff took time to help tidy the courtyard and flowerbeds at the Centre after their colleague sadly passed from a stroke 8 months ago.

Chingford stroke survivor saved by her daughter Steps Out for Stroke

A new Stroke Association Voluntary group has been launched in Dover.The group held its official launch in the Ark in Noah’s Ark road on the 7th May 2015.Stroke survivor Peter Groombridge from Shepherdswell decided to open a voluntary group with support from the Stroke Association after a stroke club in the town was closed down due to the sad death of the club’s Vice Chairperson Jean Henderson.

East Dulwich Stroke Survivor Makes May Purple for Stroke
