Andean and Amazonian ingredients among the most sought after ingredients at Hi Europe Frankfurt
Peruvian and Colombian health ingredients companies showcased a number of new products at Hi Europe in Frankfurt this November. With a growing demand for plant based proteins, free from gluten, lactose free, sugar free formulations, and bioactive ingredients, the CBI sponsored Andean and Amazonian Inspiration pavilion attracted visitors from all over the world. Furthermore a number of presentations in the exhibition innovation tours about clean label and ‘ healthy body and healthy mind’ attracted many visitors with R&D, development and marketing background.
Some of the products that were of most interest to visitors:
-Tropical fruit-based dairy ingredients developed by Alsec Colombia
-Extruded Andean grain products as a plant based protein source developed by AgroIndustria Osho from Peru
-Yacon syrup and powder as sugar replacement solution offered by Algarrobos Organicos from Peru
-Purple corn flour used as bioactive ingredients in bakery, snack and beverage formulation, offered by Algarrobos Organicos from Peru
-A plant based protein and omega 3-6 rich sacha inchi seed offered by AgroIndustrias Osho and Algarrobos Organicos from Peru
In addition to providing marketing and logistical support, the ingredients sector from Peru also receives support from CBI with the novel food application for roasted sacha inchi seeds.
